Minutes of Meeting Tuesday 4th March 2008

Attended by Sam, Tracey, Judy, Maisie, Dot

Lily of Cerebra (www.cerebra.org.uk) gave an informative talk on the charity’s work. She also gave out useful literature which Allsorts have added to their book resources. We saw an example of a child’s ‘Personal Profile’ which is full of all the information that would be useful to anyone not knowing the child. For example, a new school, new medical consultant or the people caring for the child in respite. Cerebra will help prepare and print these profiles.

Cerebra raise money by running a ‘Count Me In’ Lottery. Ring 01267 244218 for more details or visit the website. Also available is a sleep counsellor who specialises in sleep issues with children including bed wetting and night fears. Ring 07920 106217 or email sleep@cerebra.org.uk for more information.

If you would like to borrow anything from Cerebra’s extensive lending library contact Ross Lancaster on 0800 3281159 or info@cerebra.org.uk. Items are sent by post and can be returned by freepost. Membership to Cerebra is also free.

Forthcoming Trips Organised by Cerebra

Places are still available for the trip to Crealy Adventure Park in Devon for brain injured children, their parents and siblings. This is a free trip but you will need to provide your own lunch/refreshments. The trip is on Friday 30th May 2008 leaving Dorchester top of town car park at 08.45am. Contact Lily for places.

Later in the year Cerebra are holding their fun day at Broadmayne, near Dorchester, on Saturday 22nd November 2008. All welcome.
